What Are You Reading? 02/04/13
January started with a bang and ended with a whimper. I read eight books in the first half of the month and only two books in the final half of the month. According to Goodreads, I am 19% to my goal of 52 books for the year.
What I'm reading:
The Moonstone (Wilkie Collins) -- Collins is considered one of the pioneers of detective fiction, and I have been meaning to get to one of his works for a l-o-n-g time. I am 28% through The Moonstone and really enjoying it. Collins was a lifelong friend of Charles Dickens so I was a bit afraid his book would be lumbering and tedious (like Dickens). Happily, that has not been the case. The Moonstone will count towards my Vintage Mysteries Challenge.
What I finished:
No books finished last week.
Quote for the week:
“Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint.” -- Mark Twain

Your Mark Twain quote made me giggle - how true, how true. WE just weeded a book at my library a year or so ago that claimed there was NO WAY to determine a baby's sex before birth. Wonder how old that one was?? :)
